- Previous school records
- Parent meeting with Homeschool Coordinator for New Students
- Copy of birth certificate
- Official state immunization form (or official waiver)
- Registration form
- Curriculum: chosen by parent, approved by Homeschool Coordinator
- Attendance report: submitted at the completion of each school year
- Grades: submitted at the completion of each school year
- Standardized testing: 1st - 8th grade (spring)
- Teacher In-Service Document: 6th-8th grades, submitted yearly
- Signed payment contract and registration fee
High School
- Student Questionnaire (9th grade & new students)
- Recent standardized test scores
- Previously completed academic records
- Registration Form
- Personal meeting with the Homeschool Coordinator to discuss classes (9th grade & new students)
- 4 year Curriculum and Credits proposal
- Copy of birth certificate
- Official State immunization form (or official waiver)
- Pastoral reference letter (9th grade & new students)
- Copy of teaching parent’s high school or college diploma
- Signed payment contract and registration fees
- Curriculum worksheet for each semester: submitted with registration
- Grades: submitted at the completion of each semester
- Attendance slips: (9th-12th) submitted quarterly
- Attendance Summary: submitted at the completion of each school year
- Time Log of hours for Fine Arts, Electives, and P.E classes
- ACT or SAT: (11th-12th)
- Pre-ACT: (9-10)

Communication within the Umbrella will be conducted primarily through email. You must have a working email address on file, and are required to read any emails received from the Homeschool Coordinator. Parents are expected to be aware of, and comply with, information stated in these emails. If you change your email address please contact the Homeschool Coordinator to update your file. Any changes in your physical address and phone number will also need to be updated.
All curriculum is to be chosen and purchased by the Homeschooling Parent. Curriculum counseling can be given by the Homeschool Coordinator.
*Homeschool law TCA 49-6-3050 states, "A "home school" is a school conducted or directed by a parent or parents or a legal guardian or guardians for their own children". Therefore a parent or guardian not only must be PRESENT during Homeschooling hours, but also be conducting or directing the education of their child.
Homeschool families are expected to comply with laws of the State of Tennessee concerning home
schooling. A copy of applicable statutes may be viewed at www.hslda.org. It is recommended that all
homeschooling parents read the legislation carefully. TKAHSU does not assume any legal responsibility
for a family home school. The King’s Academy further recommends home-school families join the Home
School Legal Defense Association (540-338-5600 or www.hslda.org).
